Meet Trevor Thebideau

I’m Trevor, a 52-year-old guy from Western Canada, just your average Joe in many ways. But let me tell you, I’ve been on quite a spiritual journey. Now, I wouldn’t call myself a guru or anything like that. I simply have a natural talent for something called the Enlightenment Intensive. Think of it as a discovery ship, like the USS Enterprise, exploring the inner Universe. And guess what? I know how to navigate it.

For me, spirituality isn’t something mysterious or out of reach. As the great Shunryu Suzuki once said, it’s really “nothing special.” I like to think of it as being aware, authentic, honest with oneself and others, and acting in service to the greater good. It’s about embracing the extraordinary in the ordinary.

I’ve trained extensively as an Enlightenment Intensive Master and Level 1 Clearer under the guidance of Lawrence Noyes, a leading authority on the work of Charles Berner, the founder of the Enlightenment Intensive. Before becoming a master, I spent a solid decade as a participant in Enlightenment Intensives, primarily under the loving guidance of Murray Kennedy, a Master with over 40 years of experience in this field.

In addition to my work with the Enlightenment Intensive, I’ve also had the privilege of serving as the Tribe Shaman for the Head Smashed In Division of MDI (mentordiscoverinspire.org). It’s a remarkable community of men dedicated to supporting each other in becoming positive and powerful influences in their families, communities, and humanity as a whole.

While I consider myself a contemporary thinker, I feel a deep connection to the wisdom of ancient traditions. Teachers like Lao Tzu, the Buddha, and Jesus the Christ resonate with me on a profound level. I even had the opportunity to live and practice in Plum Village, guided by the beloved Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, who has recently passed away. Rest in peace, dear Thay.

I embarked on my first Enlightenment Intensive two decades ago, and from that moment on, I knew it would forever be a part of my life. Since 2012, I’ve been facilitating Enlightenment Intensives, but for me, this is not just a passion—it’s a calling. I’ll stand by your side in the face of challenges, confronting your inner demons, and I won’t hesitate to join you in celebration, singing, and dancing when the time is right.
